Song - Witchcraft in Reagan's America

Here is a song I wrote about witches.

Here are the lyrics:

I light the candles
cast an upright pentagram
tonight might summon something
just because I can

I've got my athame
make a circle out of salt
might need protection
if anything goes wrong

pay attention to the moon
and seek guidance from the crone
little bits of offerings
so I can pay respect to crows

mom and dad are sleeping sound
in their bed the next room back
they don't know the things I do
I don't think they'd understand

foxglove for healing
from a little store downtown
I call myself by secret names
when no one is around

knowledge gained from ancient tomes
keep tools to consecrate
loose hairs from enemies
I have them handy just in case

lost arts and rituals
follow rites, divination
gotta watch out what I say
you never know who's listening

daughters and sons of pan
live free absolved of sin
I cast my will into the void
and try and let the right ones in

I walk past churches everyday
they act as if they know the way
I think they're all just full of it
they screw the poor and give it all back to the smug and the rich

pastors and preachers with their rules
see politicians on the news
I don't believe the ones you hail
get myself free and try to get a glimpse outside of the veil

I'm doing witchcraft in Reagan's America!
I'm doing witchcraft in Reagan's America!
I'm doing witchcraft in Reagan's America!
I'm doing witchcraft in Reagan's America!
